This 8-hour course covers skills and knowledge required to provide basic life support by recognising and responding to life threatening emergencies in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
The course will be delivered and assessed as a new learning or reaccreditation over 8 hours of structured training.
The course is delivered face to face in a classroom.

We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for CPR classes or decide at a later date after booking that that they do not want to attend. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing.
There is no specific entry requirement for this unit of competency; however, the candidate must be able to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. Must be aged 18 or over.

Assessments are an integral part of all training courses. ACHM uses the principles of competency-based training for all courses. This means that a student’s performance is assessed on their ability to perform the tasks to the required standard. In order to ensure the principles of validity are upheld a variety of learning styles and a range of assessment strategies are used. Students are advised at the commencement of each term when assessments are scheduled, and a student may put forward for consideration of any special needs they may have.

The learners once enrolled for the course will be provided with learner’s guide as a pre-learning resource. They are to read the guide before coming to attend the class. Students are required to attend the scheduled class.
Based on the industry requirements a learner must undertake reaccreditation training and as such shall not be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT).
